About Check Supply

Paper checks, without the paper chase.

Check Supply is a check mailing service that helps people and businesses send physical checks from an iPhone or browser.

We print, seal, and mail each check so you can pay someone who needs paper without finding a printer, envelope, or stamp.

What Check Supply Does

Print and mail a check

Enter the payee, amount, and mailing address on an iPhone or in your browser. Check Supply prints, seals, and mails the physical check, so you do not need a checkbook, printer, envelope, or stamp.

Choose how it travels

Select First-Class, USPS Certified Mail, Priority Mail, or Priority Mail Express at checkout. Tracked mailing options let you follow the shipment after the check enters the mail.

Manage repeat payments

Schedule a future check or set up recurring payments for bills such as rent. Status updates show when a check is printed and mailed, so you have a record of the process.

What Makes Check Supply Different

Use an existing checking account

Connect an eligible checking account you already use through Plaid instead of opening a new one. The check funds stay in that account until the recipient deposits the check.

Pick from four mail services

Choose First-Class, Certified Mail, Priority Mail, or Priority Mail Express based on the payment. Chase says its mailed Online Bill Pay checks are delivered in five days; Check Supply offers Priority and Express shipping estimates of three and two business days after mailing.

See the check's progress

The app reports printing and mailing status and emails updates as the check moves through fulfillment. USPS tracking is available with eligible mail services, including Certified Mail.

Pay for what you send

A First-Class check starts at $6.99, and a 12-check book costs $69.99. There is no subscription requirement for sending individual checks.

Send from a phone or browser

You can create a check through the iOS app or the web app. Check Supply handles the physical printing and postage, which is useful when the recipient requires a paper check but you do not have supplies on hand.

The Team Behind Check Supply

Why we started

While living in San Francisco, Michael Pfister paid rent by check because his landlord accepted checks only from a person named on the lease. When Simple removed the Bill Pay feature he used, paying rent meant buying a checkbook, stamps, and envelopes and making a trip to the post office.

Michael and his co-founder John Jung built Check Supply so the occasional paper check could be as easy to send as a payment from a phone. They founded the company in San Francisco and now work as a remote team.

Michael Pfister

Co-founder

Michael experienced the check-mailing problem firsthand while paying rent in San Francisco. His question was simple: why couldn't sending a check feel as easy as sending someone money on Venmo?

John co-founded Check Supply with Michael. Together they built a simpler way to send a physical check when the recipient still needs paper.
